Belgrade selected as host for the Ninth International UNECE PPP Forum

At today’s meeting of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Working Group, it was decided that Belgrade will host the Ninth International UNECE Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Forum, which will be held from 14 to 16 May 2025.

This prestigious event in the field of PPPs will be held in Serbia for the first time, following previous successful forums in Istanbul, Athens, Barcelona, Geneva, and Hong Kong.

Hosting this forum represents a significant opportunity for Serbia and Belgrade to bring together international experts in the field of PPPs, government representatives, international organizations, and private sector representatives in one place. The event will facilitate the exchange of experiences and the advancement of solutions for infrastructure development in line with the principles of sustainable development, climate resilience, and digital transformation.

Jelena Tadić, Director of PPP Investment, emphasized while presenting ongoing PPP projects in Geneva: “Serbia is a regional leader in the field of PPPs, and Belgrade’s selection as the host of this forum confirms our collective efforts to enhance public-private partnerships to a high professional level, recognized globally. Serbia’s commitment to implementing the PPP model in line with our legislative framework and international evaluation standards has contributed to the success of securing the title of host for the 9th UNECE PPP Forum, amidst strong competition.”

Two years ago, the PPP project for the reconstruction of public lighting in Zaječar was selected by UNECE as one of the top 10 global projects aligned with sustainable development goals and circular economy principles.

The Ninth UNECE PPP Forum in Belgrade in May 2025 will represent a key opportunity to further advance global solutions in the field of PPP infrastructure projects, with a special focus on sustainability, climate resilience, and digital transformation.
